Working as part of the Cox Automotive’s Manheim Valuations & Appraisal Development Team designing and developing a suite of manufacturer and dealer facing tools tailored for the UK market. 

Role:

As Senior Developer, you will be responsible for delivering as part of an agile team software development solutions for Cox Automotive Retail Services division, with focus on the delivery of customer centric, scalable and maintainable solutions on time.

You must possess strong Back End experience of the Microsoft .NET stack.

As a Senior developer, you will input into product development, technology and strategic direction. Whilst assisting the lead Front End dev, mentoring and growing junior team members and ensuring adherence to best practice, coding and project management standards. Candidates must demonstrate a passion for new technologies and methodologies.   

They must also be technically agnostic, be comfortable at times in a non-technical setting, whilst being a role model to the development function and the business, both technically and culturally.

Delivery of Quality is a must and you will pride yourself not only on your code but also testing including Dev testing, Automated Unit tests (Front & Back End) and Automated Functional tests.

Will actively and enthusiastically engage in the wider Cox Automotive group being open to consuming and sharing of knowledge, whilst throughout maintaining a strong customer and Cox Automotive focus. Deputising for the Lead Dev, the Senior Dev will occasionally be required and will involve interactions with leaders throughout the Cox Automotive organisation and Cox Automotive Dev community.

The role will have regular interactions with account managers and people outside of the IT, and as such excellent communication skills, both written and spoken are required.

 Should expect up to 10% of time to involve travel to other sites to collaborate with other team members or customers

Skills:

 

  • Experienced in taking a senior role in software development projects, and at times leading the delivery from its inception through to successful go live.
  • Passion for best practices and methodologies including one of the following TDD, BDD, CI, CD, ODD and Composition.
  • Experienced in “C#.Net, RESTful WebAPIs, Strong Relational Databases & SQL Skills”
  • Experience of AWS or Azure (or similar) and PAAS
  • Obsessed about code quality and automated test
  • Experience of the full Software Development Lifecycle
  • Agile Experience
  • Customer Focussed and loves to lead teams to successful delivery
  • Loves to support and grow more junior developers
  • Potential Skilled in Performance & People Management
  • Excellent communication skills in English in written and spoken form.
  • At least 3 years’ commercial software development experience working in an agile environment, preferably in a variety of situations.
